Our Purpose

Dedicated to delivering high-quality care, the Carole and Ronald Krist Samaritan Counseling Center is a nationally recognized non-profit organization offering counseling services to individuals and families in the Greater Houston/Galveston area.

Carole & Ronald Krist began their life together in 1960. Carole helped Ronny through school where he pursued a law degree. Throughout the years the family has been blessed with financial success and has shared their blessings as philanthropists. The American Cancer Society, University of Texas and the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston among others, have all been recipients of major transformational gifts from the Krist Family.

Samaritan Spirit

The 2016 Samaritan Spirit Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Carole and Ronald Krist and their sons and spouses Kevin & Diane Krist, Scott & Kimberly Krist , and their daughter Devin & Karyn Scott who have all embodied the Samaritan Spirit in their personal lives as they continue to work together to help individuals in their community who need a helping hand.

The Carole and Ronald Krist Samaritan Counseling Center’s mission has also benefited from their loyal and generous support since 2001. In the words of Ronny Krist:

“Our family believes that many painful mental illnesses are not objectively visible but are nevertheless devastating.  Being invisible, these painful mental problems are sometimes overlooked by donors and it is our hope to help fill in the gap that is sometimes otherwise overlooked. Our family has always felt an obligation to share in our good fortune and accordingly charitable, and thus, the Samaritan Center was a perfect fit”.
